It has long been standard industry practice that exhibitors must "notify" show management of their intent to use an EAC at their show to service the exhibit. In our industry's largest shows, there can be as many as 150 EACs that need access to the showfloor to service their exhibitor clients. The extent of the administrative tasks necessary to review EAC contracts and credentials in advance of the show has led some organizers to believe they need to impose EAC Fees to cover the costs.
Jim Wurm describes the EAC registration process for IMTS.
The E2MA has a better way!
We have developed an online process which allows trade show exhibitors to designate their EAC service providers for the show in question. Once "selected" the E2MA completes the remainder of the administrative tasks that are necessary for EAC credentialing at a fraction of the cost of show management. And, best of all, it eliminates the need, or the excuse, for imposing an EAC fee - which is ultimately paid for by the exhibitor.
The EAC Registration process is a great benefit to EACA members because exhibitors access the E2MA site to designate their EAC suppliers. On average, the E2MA web site receives more than 10,000 visits per month. Of those visits, more than 70% review the E2MA membership list and/or the EAC registration list. If you want your company to appear on the list of those that are available for hire at the next big show in your town you need to be a member of the E2MA.
And as an E2MA member, there is an additional benefit that can streamline your operational process.
E2MA members can login to the EAC registration system and check on the status of which customers have registered you for the show. Some members tell us that they see their name registered as the contractor of record even prior to receiving the work order. But just as important, you can also cross-reference which clients have provided you with work orders but have forgotten to "notify show management."
If you've ever lost a job because the paper work wasn't delivered in a timely fashion than you already know the value of this E2MA member benefit.
If you want to be on the "list" of preferred EACs in the EAC Registration system, and if you want to be able to check on the status of your client's EAC notifications online, and in real time, join the E2MA today!
